Chart: gold futures GC=F daily candles with 20-day average (Yahoo Finance data, plotted 08:14 BST, 22 Oct 2026). Futures trade at a premium to spot, so chart levels differ from the spot strip.
BackdropOil-driven inflation worries keep yields near 5.1% and gold on the back foot, even with a softer dollar.
Market structureThe $4,100 to $4,107 floor has given way, and the bounce from $4,068 is so far shallow. Working range: $4,060–$4,120.
