Live XAUUSD observations

Short, factual notes on where gold (XAUUSD) is trading against reference levels, posted when price moves sharply or comes close to a level. Newest first, times in UTC, last 12 hours only.

Education only, not investment advice. Levels are reference levels for study, not entry, exit or target prices. Observations describe what has happened; they are not forecasts. The price is an indicative broker CFD quote and can differ from other feeds.

    How to read these notes

    method, in plain English

When a note appears. Notes are event-triggered, not continuous: one is posted when price moves 0.75% or more within about an hour, or comes close to a reference level. Silence does not mean a quiet market.

Indicative price. The price is an indicative XAUUSD quote from a broker CFD feed at the time shown. It is not an exchange price and can differ from other sources.

Model volatility range (GARCH, 68% band). GARCH is a statistical model of how much gold usually moves in a day, based on recent price swings. The 68% band is the range the model treats as a typical one-day move (about one standard deviation either side). Its upper and lower edges are reference levels only. Reaching an edge does not mean price is likely to turn there, and the model can be wrong when conditions change.

Support and resistance. Reference levels from recent price structure, such as the weekly open and recent hourly highs. "Closed back below a level, which is resistance again" describes an hourly close; it is not a prediction. Hourly (H1) bars are named by the time they open: the bar that opened at 17:00 UTC closes at 18:00 UTC.

Calendar line. Taken from the AURUM gold calendar of official release times: it lists high-importance US data releases in the hour after each note. If the calendar does not cover that time, or was last checked more than 14 days before the note, the line is left out. A quiet calendar does not make the market safe.

History. Each note shows its "as of" time in UTC. Notes older than 12 hours are removed. The page checks for new notes every minute.

Education only, not investment advice. Leveraged trading is high risk.
